Lubāns lake has unique ecosystem – its largest by area lake in Latvia still being only few meters deep. Lot of birds are nesting in this area. For trekking or biking the biggest challenge and also danger is hogweeds. Hogweed fields are do impressive, covering almost all territory around the lake. If you touch them and get juice on your skin in sunlight, you get serious burns. Lets make small video ride through hogweeds:
